A dry fruit box earns its place by staying out: on the majlis table or the console, filled with dates, apricots and nuts, so that something can be offered the minute a guest sits down. Ours are made to order in our UAE workshop, from AED 75 for a glass jar to AED 130 for the Diwani box.
The Diwani dry fruits box
The Arabic Diwani Dry Fruits Box, AED 130, has a crystal-clear acrylic body divided into three compartments, under a rose-gold-tone metal lid carrying single Arabic letters in Diwani. The clear sides let what is inside become part of the display: dates beside dried apricots and pistachios read as colour, not clutter.
Jars that keep one thing each
A jar keeps one thing and shows it off. The decorated date jar is a clear glass dish under a round black lid with white Arabic calligraphy, AED 130. The glass jar with a small Diwani letter on its lid comes in three sizes, from AED 75 to AED 115, and is the one people line up in twos and threes along a console.

How to use them
- Keep them out of strong sun: neither acrylic nor dates like direct heat.
- Put the box on a tray with the dallah and the cups, and the three read as one arrangement rather than three objects.
- For Ramadan 2027, expected to begin around 8 February, order by 28 January so the box is on the table for the first iftar.
Cleaning
Wipe the acrylic with a soft cloth and a little mild soapy water, never an ammonia glass cleaner. More in how to care for acrylic décor.
