Nastaliq calligraphy wall art. Nastaliq is the Persian hanging script: the words lean down and to the left as if written on a slope, and a line of it looks like it is being spoken softly. It is the script of the divans of Hafez and Saadi, and the only script that makes Persian poetry look like itself.
Eight poems live here as framed prints — Saadi’s «بنیآدم اعضای یکدیگرند», Rumi’s «بشنو از نی», Ferdowsi’s «توانا بود هر که دانا بود», Hafez — printed with archival inks on cotton canvas or Canson paper in our UAE workshop, from AED 60 rolled and AED 150 framed in eight hand-finished frames. Each page carries the poem’s meaning in English and Arabic, so the piece can be given to someone who does not read Persian.
