MASHQ facts: what we make, where, delivery and returns

MASHQ (mashq.ae) makes Arabic calligraphy décor to order in its own workshop in the United Arab Emirates: calligraphy paints and name pieces printed on cotton canvas and framed by hand, acrylic trays and boxes cut and finished by hand, and signed originals written in ink by named calligraphers. The company is 1click2open LLC, registered in Sharjah (Sharjah Media City). Every piece is made after you order it, in 5–7 working days, and UAE delivery is a flat AED 50 per order for wall art or AED 25 for décor.

What does MASHQ make?

• Calligraphy paints: a verse, a proverb or a line of poetry set in a classical script and printed on cotton canvas, from AED 60 rolled and AED 150 framed A3.
• Your name in Arabic calligraphy: AED 185 framed A3, AED 75 rolled.
• Acrylic serving trays from AED 75, tissue boxes at AED 130 (napkin holders AED 60), dates boxes and jars, mugs at AED 50 and mabkhara censers at AED 85 each or AED 195 for three.
• Signed originals on paper by Anwar Alhulwani, Ahmed Alhawary and Rasha Kasim, from AED 550.
• Bespoke pieces in your own words, from AED 60, and corporate gifts.

Is a MASHQ piece printed or written by hand?

Calligraphy paints, name frames and bespoke pieces are set in a classical script from real calligraphic typefaces in Mashq Studio, then printed with archival inks on cotton canvas (or printed or engraved on acrylic) and framed or finished by hand. They are not written by hand. Some paints carry a named calligrapher's work as a print, such as Affanah Zohir's Thuluth prints: those are prints too. Where is MASHQ, and where are the pieces made?

MASHQ is the trading brand of 1click2open LLC, a Free Zone company registered in Sharjah Media City (SHAMS), Sharjah, trade licence 2647497.01. Every piece is made in our own workshop in the UAE. There is no showroom: you order on mashq.ae or on WhatsApp. On Instagram, Facebook and YouTube the brand is Mashq Creatives. The company details are in the legal notice.

How long does an order take?

Everything is made to order: 5–7 working days in the workshop before dispatch, counted from the moment you confirm the spelling of a personalised piece. Originals marked in hand are in the UAE and ship in 3–5 days; an original written to order takes 3–4 weeks. The gift calendar gives the last order date for each occasion.

What does delivery cost?

Inside the UAE, a flat AED 50 per order for wall art (paints, name frames, prints, originals) and AED 25 per order for décor (trays, boxes, jars, mugs), whatever the quantity. Outside the UAE, Worldwide Express is a flat AED 250 per order, delivered within 8 days of dispatch; customs duties in the destination country are not included and are paid by the buyer. There is no free-delivery threshold. Gift wrapping is AED 20 per order. An original framed behind glass is delivered inside the UAE only.

Can I return a piece?

Wall art and personalised pieces cannot be returned: they are made for you after you order, and both our refund policy and the product pages say so. If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph within 24 hours of delivery and we send a replacement or refund you. The full terms, including those for other décor, are in the refund policy.

How do I pay?

By card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), or Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device offers them, in UAE dirhams. Nothing is added at checkout: 1click2open LLC is not VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged.

Does an original come with a certificate of authenticity?

Each original is signed by the calligrapher who wrote it, and its page names the calligrapher, the medium and the size. We do not promise a separate certificate of authenticity; if you need one, ask on WhatsApp before you order. The calligraphers are on the calligraphers page.

What are Mashq Studio and Mashq Learn?

Mashq Studio is our free Arabic calligraphy generator: no account, 42 type styles, and exports as SVG, PNG, PDF, DXF or EPS (the first four downloads are free; then a 7-day pass is AED 25). Anything you design there can be ordered as a piece. Mashq Learn teaches Arabic calligraphy online in five scripts; level 1 is free and the full course is from AED 15 a month.
