The coffee corner

A coffee corner — ركن القهوة — is the small table in a Gulf home where the dallah, the cups and the dates live, and often one line of writing on it. Ours are thirteen coffee phrases on acrylic serving trays from AED 115 and ceramic mugs at AED 50, made to order in our UAE workshop in 5–7 working days, with a flat AED 25 UAE delivery for the whole order.
Ten of the phrases come three ways: a tray in Ruq’ah, the quick everyday hand that suits a joke; a tray in Diwani, the knotted ceremonial hand for a more formal table; and a 330 ml white ceramic mug with the phrase wrapped around it. Three more — «صباح الخير», «قهوة الصباح», «فنجان محبة» — are trays only.

Tray prices are for clear acrylic; gold-tinted acrylic is AED 165. Every tray is 30 × 26 × 5 cm, cut from 5 mm acrylic and hand-finished — room for two cups, a dallah and a small dates plate.
What a corner usually takes
A tray and its mug in the same phrase is the natural pair: AED 115 + AED 50, and because delivery is a flat AED 25 per order, the mug travels in the same parcel for nothing more. Add a second mug for whoever you share the coffee with. Every coffee tray page offers its matching mug.
Ruq’ah or Diwani?
Ruq’ah is the hand people actually write in — it reads as a note, which is right for «لا تكلّمني قبل القهوة». Diwani knots and climbs; it reads as ceremony, which is right for a majlis. If you are not sure, what each script suits, and what it does not.
