A live Arabic calligraphy counter at a corporate exhibition stand in the UAE, with gift boxes and reed pens
A calligraphy counter at a stand: each visitor leaves with their name in Arabic calligraphy.

A live Arabic calligraphy station for your brand activation, exhibition stand, product launch or store opening in the UAE. A MASHQ calligrapher writes each visitor's name by hand with a reed pen, on a card, a bookmark, a tag or your own product, in Diwani, Thuluth, Ruq'ah, Naskh or Kufic. The visitor watches, waits for it, and leaves with something personal that carries your brand. Book from 2 to 8 hours a day, one day or the whole show; a written quote within one working day.

How many visitors in a day

At the counter a calligrapher writes about 40 to 60 first names an hour in Ruq'ah or Naskh, and 20 to 30 in the more ornate Diwani: choose the quick scripts for a busy aisle and Diwani for a seated VIP evening. Every name is spelled with the visitor before the pen touches the card, and a name from any language is written in Arabic letters, so it reads as it sounds. For a show of several days, each day is booked from 2 to 8 hours and one quote covers them all.

How a booking goes

  1. Tell us the activation. The dates, the hours each day, the venue, about how many visitors, and what we write on: the quote form or WhatsApp.
  2. A written quote within one working day. For companies and agencies, a numbered quotation accepted by purchase order.
  3. Confirm. Payment in full in advance, by bank transfer or a card link; the invoice is issued on payment and the dates are held.
  4. On the day. The calligrapher arrives before the doors open, sets the counter and writes for the booked hours.

What the stand or venue prepares

A counter or a small table with a chair at the front of the stand, where visitors pass; good light on it; your printed cards or products, if we write on them; and the exhibitor badge or access the venue requires. Dubai and Sharjah venues carry no travel line on the quote; Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates carry a stated one. Nothing is added on the day.

Questions marketing teams ask

Can the calligrapher write names in English?

The calligrapher writes Arabic letters only, in five scripts. A visitor's name from any language is spelled in Arabic with them first, so it reads as it sounds; most visitors want exactly that.

Can you work all the days of an exhibition?

Yes: each day is booked from 2 to 8 hours, and one quotation covers the whole show. Tell us the opening hours and the busiest days.

Can our logo be on the card?

Yes: cards printed with your logo by your printer, and the calligrapher writes the visitor's name on them. Send a sample at least five working days before.

Do you accept a purchase order?

Yes. Companies and agencies receive a numbered quotation accepted by purchase order; payment is in full in advance before the date, and the invoice is issued on payment.
