Arabic Calligraphy Wall Art for Offices and the Majlis
Last updated 16 October 2026.
MASHQ makes Arabic calligraphy wall art for offices across the UAE: calligraphy paints printed on canvas and framed, in the words your company or government entity chooses (its name, a value, a line of poetry or a welcome), and the majlis table pieces that go with them. Paints start from AED 60 on the store; for companies an A3 paint is AED 65 rolled or AED 105 framed, and larger sizes are quoted in writing. One store piece is made in 5–7 working days; a run for several offices takes 10–14 working days from artwork approval and payment. Delivery of wall art is AED 50 per order to one UAE address.
For offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and every emirate, each piece is made to order, made and finished in the UAE and inspected in Sharjah. You set the words in Mashq Studio, a free online calligraphy tool, and see them before ordering. There is no minimum order.
Start from the wall
Our size guide chooses the size from the wall and the furniture under it: a single piece looks settled at about two thirds of the furniture's width, its centre about 150 cm from the floor. Every calligraphy paint comes in ten sizes, from A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) to 90 × 120 cm, portrait or landscape. A frame adds its moulding, so a framed piece is a little larger than its canvas.
Space by space
Reception
Every visitor reads this wall, so keep it short: a welcome such as «حياكم الله» (hayyakum Allah) or «أهلًا وسهلًا» (ahlan wa sahlan), or the entity's name. Over furniture 200–220 cm wide, such as a long counter, aim for 130–145 cm: A0 set landscape (119 cm), 90 × 120 cm, or two A1 side by side, 5–8 cm apart. Over a console of 100–120 cm: A2, 50 × 70 cm or A1. A short phrase stays legible across the room from A2 up.
Boardroom
The wall facing the head of the table suits one value the board stands behind, such as integrity or excellence written in Arabic, or a line of poetry. On the long main wall, 90 × 120 cm or A0; over a sideboard, A2, 50 × 70 cm or A1. A long line needs A1 or larger to be read, not just seen.
The director's office
Behind the chair, over a credenza of 100–120 cm: A2, 50 × 70 cm or A1. On the desk or a shelf: A4, A3 or 50 × 40 cm. The words can be personal: the entity's motto, a line of poetry, a name (your name, framed A3, AED 185). A calligrapher's signed original is a separate piece, quoted through custom calligraphy.
The majlis
A majlis wall with floor seating of 300 cm and more wants 150 cm and more of calligraphy: two or three A1 or A0, or 90 × 120 cm. On the low tables go the pieces guests use (trays, dates boxes, tissue boxes, the mabkhara and the dallah) written with a greeting, a proverb, a line of poetry or a name. The full set is on the majlis page.
Corridors and meeting rooms
A corridor takes A3; beside a door, 50 × 40 cm; a narrow tall wall or stairwell, 60 × 90 cm; over a meeting-room console, A2 or 50 × 70 cm. A series in one script and one frame, one value per room, reads as a single scheme.
What to write
- A greeting: «حياكم الله», «أهلًا وسهلًا», «تفضلوا» (tafaddalu), «الضيف عزيز» (al-dayf aziz).
- The entity's name, with its logo as a vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF). The federal emblem and the UAE flag are not reproduced; the seven stars of the Union, the national colours and geometric pattern are fine.
- A value or a line of poetry the team sees every day.
- A Quran verse, a hadith, God's names or the basmala only on a framed paint that hangs on a wall, never on a tray, a dates box or anything set down or eaten from.
Choosing the script
- Thuluth: formal and flowing, for a name or a verse on a main wall.
- Kufi: upright and geometric, the modern choice for a contemporary office.
- Diwani: ornate and rounded, for a welcome or poetry.
- Naskh: clear, for a longer line that must be read.
