Cleaning
Use a soft, lint-free cloth (microfibre works best) with a little lukewarm water or a mild, non-abrasive soap. Wipe gently in straight lines rather than circles to avoid micro-scratches. Avoid paper towels and rough fabrics — they can dull the surface over time.
What to avoid
- Harsh chemicals: Skip ammonia-based glass cleaners (like standard window spray) — they can cloud acrylic over time. A gentle soap and water solution is safer and just as effective.
- Direct heat and sun: Prolonged direct sunlight or placement near heat sources (stovetops, heaters) can cause warping. A spot with natural light but out of direct sun rays is ideal.
- Abrasive tools: Never use scouring pads, dry paper towels, or rough sponges — acrylic scratches more easily than glass.
Everyday handling
Lift boxes and trays by their base rather than the lid or edges, and store smaller pieces like jars and letter frames somewhere they won't be knocked. Handcrafted pieces are sturdy for everyday use, but a little mindfulness goes a long way.
