Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around Monday 8 February, with Eid al-Fitr around Tuesday 9 March. A hotel dresses three places for the month: the lobby where guests arrive, the majlis or tent where they break the fast, and the suites. In the UAE the dressing is read, not only seen: «رمضان كريم» at the entrance, a dates box on every table, a line of calligraphy where the coffee is poured. The pieces are made to order in our UAE workshop, from AED 60 for a dome that turns from «رمضان» to «عيد سعيد» to AED 225 for a Ramadan set on a leather tray. For delivery before the month, the purchase order and payment must reach us by Wednesday 13 January.
What UAE hotels did in Ramadan 2025 and 2026
The tent is back as the centre of a hotel's Ramadan. Burj Al Arab opened its first Ramadan tent, Al Diwan, in 2025 and brought it back in 2026; Jumeirah Emirates Towers ran an 800-guest Ramadan majlis in 2026; Atlantis, The Palm ran the Asateer tent in both years; Marriott Resort Palm Jumeirah ran the Layalina majlis; in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental ran Majlis by the Sea in 2025 and again in 2026. In Sharjah no hotel ran a tent of its own; the hotels ran iftar buffets, and the city's large tent, Alsimrah at Aljada, is the developer's.
What the trade press describes is the stage: the tent, the buffet, the oud player. What a guest remembers is closer: the tray the coffee came on, the box the dates were in, the word on the wall behind the host. That is the part a hotel can dress well for the price of a few pieces per table, and it is the part that comes back next year.
Floor by floor
Arrival: the lobby
One line at the entrance, large enough to read from the door: «رمضان كريم» or «رمضان مبارك», on a paint or cut into a dome. A masjid lantern set (AED 115) on the console, the two-in-one dome (AED 60) that reads «رمضان» through the month and turns to «عيد سعيد» on the last night, and a dates box on the reception desk so that the first thing offered is a date. At the coffee station, a Large serving tray and the brass dallah engraved with the hotel's greeting; the dallah is on the hotels page.
The majlis and the tent
Every iftar table takes a tray and a dates box. The tray carries a line the guests read while they wait for the call to prayer: «حياكم الله», «أهلاً وسهلاً», or the hotel's own greeting; the Ramadan Kareem box (AED 75, square or rectangle, four colours) holds the dates. On the buffet, the masjid decoration set (AED 95) stands where the desserts are. For the host's own table, the Ramadan set on a leather tray (AED 225) is the complete arrangement in one piece. Our guide to Arabic calligraphy in hotel design says which script carries at distance in a tent: Thuluth for the line on the wall, Diwani for the greeting on the table.
The suites and rooms
The room's table gets the six-piece majlis set described on the hotels page: tray, dates box, tissue box, glass bowl, napkin holder and mabkhara. Put a year-round greeting on the set, «حياكم الله» or the hotel's name, and let one piece say Ramadan: the Ramadan Kareem box, swapped out after Eid. The set then stays on the table all year, and only the box is seasonal. In Ramadan the mabkhara earns its place: our mabkhara guide explains the ritual of oud before iftar; a single cut-arabesque mabkhara is AED 85.
Corridors and the prayer room
Short lines of remembrance in Thuluth, the script of the mosque: «سبحانك اللهم وبحمدك» from AED 60 rolled at A4 and AED 140 framed, from a calligrapher's complete sheet. Three along a corridor in the same script read as one hand. Keep a verse where it is honoured, at eye level or above, never beside a bin or a bathroom door.
Iftar guests, staff and VIPs
The giveaway at the tent's exit is the Eid Saeed box (AED 95), which the guest keeps for Eid. For a delegation or a VIP suite, the dates box with a personalised Thuluth lid (AED 215) carries the guest's name, cut into the lid; send the names as a list and the artwork is composed for each. Our Ramadan and Eid gifting guide has the rest.
The dates that matter
| Occasion | Delivered by | Purchase order and payment by |
|---|---|---|
| Ramadan 2027, around Monday 8 February | Thursday 4 February | Wednesday 13 January |
| Eid al-Fitr 2027, around Tuesday 9 March | Thursday 4 March | Wednesday 10 February |
The rule behind the table: the delivery day, minus two courier days, minus 14 working days of production (Monday to Friday; UAE public holidays are not working days). A purchase order received after the date is re-dated, and delivery before the occasion is no longer promised. Hotel budgets close in December, so the quotation should be in hand by mid-December; a sample set, at unit price and credited on the order, is made in 5–7 working days from an earlier purchase order. The same calendar, with National Day, is on the Studio's business page.
What comes back next year
- Everything in acrylic. Wiped with a soft cloth, stored flat, boxed by floor so that next January the lobby's pieces and the suites' pieces come out of their own boxes.
- The two-in-one dome does Ramadan and Eid in one piece; the Eid Saeed box is the Eid piece for the rooms.
- The year-round greeting on the room set means nothing in the room is dated; only the Ramadan Kareem box goes into storage after Eid.
- The dallah is brass and the paints are canvas; neither is seasonal, and both stay out all year.
Pieces to order for the month

Quick answers
When does Ramadan 2027 start? Around Monday 8 February 2027, by the Umm al-Qura calendar; the UAE announces the first day by moon sighting, so the date is "around". Eid al-Fitr falls around Tuesday 9 March.
When must a hotel order Ramadan décor? For delivery by Thursday 4 February, the purchase order and payment must reach us by Wednesday 13 January 2027. For Eid, by Wednesday 10 February.
Can the same pieces be used for Eid? Yes. The two-in-one dome turns from «رمضان» to «عيد سعيد»; the room set carries a year-round greeting; only the Ramadan Kareem box is stored after the month.
How long does a run for the whole hotel take? 10–14 working days from artwork approval and payment, plus two courier days; one photograph of the finished run before dispatch. A single set is made in 5–7 working days.
Send the room count and the greeting you want on WhatsApp; the numbered quotation comes the same working day. UAE delivery to one address is AED 25 per order for décor and AED 50 when wall art is in it. Lead times, artwork and invoicing are answered on the corporate gifting page.
About this guide: written by MASHQ, which makes Arabic calligraphy pieces to order in its UAE workshop (1click2open LLC, Sharjah). The hotel examples come from Gulf News and Fact Magazine (Ramadan tents in Dubai, 2025 and 2026), What's On and The National (Abu Dhabi, 2025), and Arada's announcement of the Alsimrah tent in Sharjah. The dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar and the UAE's announced holidays; prices were checked against the shop in October 2026.
