Ramadan and Eid gifting has its own logic, and it is not the same as gifting at Christmas or a birthday. The occasions are distinct from each other, the timing matters, and a gift that lands well in the first week of Ramadan can feel oddly placed on the morning of Eid.
This is what we have learned making pieces for both, year after year, in the UAE.
Ramadan and Eid are two different gifts
Ramadan is a month of restraint, reflection and hosting. Gifts given during it tend to be functional and shared — something that appears on the iftar table, gets passed around, and serves the household rather than one person.
Eid is celebration and release. Gifts are brighter, more personal, and more often given to individuals — particularly to children, who traditionally receive eidiya.
If you are giving to the same household twice, this is the useful split: give the family something for the table in Ramadan, and give people something of their own at Eid.
Timing: earlier than you think
A Ramadan gift wants to arrive before the month begins, or in its first days. Its whole purpose is to be used across the thirty days — a dates box that arrives in the last week has missed most of its life.
Eid gifts are given on the day or the evening before. Not early.
For anything made to order, work backwards. Our production takes 5–7 working days before delivery, and the fortnight before Ramadan is our busiest period of the year. Ordering three weeks ahead is comfortable; ordering three days ahead is not.

Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2027: the dates, and the last day to order
By the Umm al-Qura calendar, Ramadan 1448 begins around 8 February 2027 and Eid al-Fitr falls around 9 March 2027. "Around" is meant literally: the sighting of the moon can move either day by one.
- For the first iftar: order by 28 January 2027 for delivery inside the UAE.
- For Eid morning: order by 25 February 2027.
- Sending it abroad: Worldwide Express adds up to 8 days, so order about a week earlier. Sending a calligraphy gift abroad covers the cost, the timing and customs.
These dates are our promise counted backwards at its slowest: 7 working days to make the piece, then up to two days with the courier. The gift calendar keeps every season's last day to order in one place.
What actually gets used
The gifts that survive past the season share a quality: they are useful on ordinary days too.
- Dates and sweets boxes — the centre of the iftar table, and a serving piece for the rest of the year. The Ramadan Kareem dates box is AED 75; the Eid Saeed box AED 95.
- Serving trays — the single most-used object in a majlis. "The guest is dear" in Naskh is from AED 115.
- Storage jars — dried fruit and nuts through Ramadan, then whatever the kitchen needs. The decorated date jar is AED 130.
- Lanterns and decorative panels — seasonal, but stored and brought out annually, which makes them a tradition rather than a purchase. The masjid lantern set is AED 115; the masjid-style Ramadan Kareem set AED 95.
- A whole table at once — the Ramadan set on a leather tray is AED 225, and the arabesque censers are AED 85 for one, AED 195 for three.
- Personalised pieces — a name in calligraphy is not tied to a season at all. A name, framed at A3, is AED 185.
Delivery inside the UAE is a flat AED 50 per order for wall art and AED 25 for décor.
A note on Quranic phrases
Calligraphy carrying Quranic verse or the names of God is meaningful, and it is also weightier than a decorative phrase. Such pieces should be treated with care: not placed on the floor, not used where food is served directly on the surface, not put somewhere they would be walked past carelessly.
If you do not know the recipient's practice well, «رمضان كريم», «عيد مبارك» or a family name are warm, unambiguous and safe. They carry the occasion without carrying obligation.
Corporate gifting
For companies gifting across a mixed workforce in the UAE, the same principle applies more strongly: choose the occasion, not the religion. A Ramadan hamper with a well-made serving piece works across an office because it is hospitality, not observance.
Practical points that matter more than they sound: order early enough for the whole quantity to be made in one batch, keep any logo engraving subtle — a small mark reads as quality, a large one reads as advertising — and decide on packaging at the same time as the gift, not afterwards.
Presentation is part of the gift
In Gulf gifting the wrapping is not disposable ceremony; it is part of what is being offered. A beautifully made object handed over in a plastic bag has lost something real.
If a gift is going directly to a recipient rather than through you, it is worth adding Gift Wrapping (AED 20 per order, however many pieces) and writing your message under “Order instructions” in your cart — particularly for corporate orders, where the sender is often not in the room.

- Ramadan: something shared, for the table, arriving before the month starts
- Eid: something personal, given on the day
- Made to order: allow 5–7 working days plus delivery; for 2027, order by 28 January for Ramadan and by 25 February for Eid
- When unsure of practice, choose an occasion phrase or a name over Quranic verse
- Wrap it properly — presentation is not an extra
