Description
«وقل رب زدني علما» — “And say: my Lord, increase me in knowledge” (Quran, Sūrat Ṭā-Hā 20:114). The one prayer the Prophet was commanded to keep asking. It is the line families hang in a study or above a child's desk, and the line teachers are given at the end of a year; it asks for more, not for ease, which is why it wears well over time. Set here in Diwani, the letters knotting upward like the request itself.
