An Arabic calligraphy gift from the UAE reaches an address abroad by Worldwide Express for a flat AED 250 per order, whatever the quantity, within 8 days of dispatch. Every piece is made to order first, in 5–7 working days, so allow about three weeks before the date it must arrive. Customs duties, if the destination charges any, are not part of the fee.
What does it cost?
One flat fee per order, not per piece: AED 250 for Worldwide Express, tracked from our workshop to the door. Three paints and a mug in one order pay AED 250 once. Inside the UAE the same order would pay AED 50. The fee is shown at checkout before you pay, and there is no free-delivery threshold.
How long does it take?
- Making: 5–7 working days in our UAE workshop, after you confirm the spelling of anything personal.
- Travel: within 8 days of dispatch by express courier. The tracking number comes by email the day the parcel leaves.
- Together: about three weeks in the worst case. For an Eid, a wedding or a birthday abroad, order three weeks ahead and you have the margin.
An original by a calligrapher that is not in hand takes 3–4 weeks to be written; its page says so.
«الصبر مفتاح الفرج» — Calligraphy Paint
From Dhs. 60
Your Name in Arabic Calligraphy — Framed A3, three scripts
From Dhs. 75
«أهلاً وسهلاً» — Acrylic Serving Tray
From Dhs. 115
What travels best?
- A rolled canvas. Unframed works travel rolled in a rigid tube, which is light and hard to damage. A calligraphy paint is AED 60 rolled at A4 or A3, and the recipient can frame it locally.
- A name, rolled. A name set in Diwani, Thuluth or Nastaliq is AED 75 as a rolled A3 canvas, or AED 185 framed.
- A signed original. Originals by living calligraphers, from AED 550, are shipped unframed, rolled in a tube. Our framing with glass (AED 300) is for UAE deliveries only, so abroad the recipient frames it.
- Table pieces. An acrylic serving tray or a welcome tray from AED 115 makes a gift that is used every day.
Who pays customs?
Customs duties, import taxes and any other charges set by the destination country are not included in the AED 250; they are the buyer's to settle. We cannot predict them: they depend on the country, the declared value and the kind of item. If the gift is a surprise, check the destination's rules for gifts before you order, so nobody is asked to pay at the door.
Sending it straight to them
Put their address as the delivery address and your message in the gift note at checkout: it travels on a card with the parcel. Gift wrapping is AED 20 per order.
If something arrives damaged
Send us a photo within 24 hours of receipt and we replace the piece or refund you in full. The full terms are in our shipping policy.
Quick answers
Can I pay from abroad? Prices are in AED and the store takes cards, with Apple Pay and Google Pay where the device offers them.
Can I see the design before it is made? Yes. Set the words yourself in Mashq Studio, free, or send them to us and we send you the layout to approve before anything is printed or cut.
Can a framed piece go abroad? It ships at the same AED 250 per order. A rolled canvas is the lighter, safer choice for a long journey; frame it where it will hang.
All the paints are in the calligraphy paint collection.
